“Sharing His Transforming Love” is this year’s theme for the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, the major source of financial support for our diocesan ministries. Each gift to our annual appeal helps us to fulfill the mission given to us by Christ to make His love known in our diocese and beyond. Your support helps us in a variety of ways:
- Education of our seminarians,
- Catholic education and formation of our youth
- Support outreach efforts to those in need through Catholic Charities
Throughout these first months as your bishop, I have enjoyed getting to know you, the people of this wonderful diocese. I have been inspired by your joy in living the Gospel and by your witness to Christ. I look forward to more opportunities to pray and work together as we seek to build up the Kingdom here in our nine counties.

Seminarian Education
In giving ... we receive
During their life-long ministry our priests accompany us on our faith journey. They baptize our babies, confirm our children, marry us, anoint us when we’re sick, and heal us in the confessional. In each of these sacramental moments they bring the love of Jesus to those they shepherd. Your investment in the Bishop’s Annual Appeal is an investment in the sacramental life of the Church. Your gift supports the
formation and education of our seminarians who, God willing, will be our future shepherds.

Great Commission
Jesus gave us the “Great Commission” to go out and bring the love of Christ to all and build His Kingdom on earth in preparation for our eternal reward.
What does that look like in our diocese? Catholic school, religious education and homeschooled students actively engaged in their faith, serving their communities and growing closer to Jesus. Young engaged
couples deepening their understanding of their sacramental bond in a Joy-filled marriage retreat before saying, “I do.” Young adults changed through an inspiring retreat.

and stage.
Each day across the diocese Catholic Charities is improving the life of
someone in need: Parenting resources for a mother-to-be (Caring Network); a safe haven for teenagers in crisis (Ark Services
for Youth); nourishment for those experiencing food insecurity (Bread of Life); mental health counseling for those in need (Bridges).
